International Workshops on advanced endoscopy with live or video demonstrations are organised under the auspices of the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE) in conjunction with national medical and nursing societies. |

| The workshops are aimed at achieving the following goals: |

To promote the teaching and practice of gastrointestinal endoscopy |
|
To enhance and assist in the control of quality of endoscopic procedures |
|
To target their activities to persons involved in endoscopic procedures |
| |
|
| Since 1999 ESGENA has participated in the workshops, in order |
|
to stimulate and promote endoscopy nursing in the host countries. |
|
to emphasise the importance of team work between nurses and doctors. |
|
to advance the education of endoscopy nurses in the host countries |
|
to stimulate and promote the foundation of endoscopy nursing societies and / or the co-operation with national nursing organisations. |
|
to promote co-operation with other professional groups with compatible aims |
